Dust We Are

I had a dream

Where I looked back to find you

Scorched like a pillar of salt.

And the love in me that yearned to cradle

Every last grain

In the palm of my hands

To hold you close to my breast dissipated away

For these fairy tales I learned by heart years ago

Etched onto a man-made Book

Cannot ascribe such tender words that dissolve

As dust

Oh how quickly the love once strong turned into hate

You and I were meant for so much more We said

I was your everything You said

But to hell with Heaven said I

And chose to leave the debris behind.

Car c'était juste une fois

Alors qu’il y avait toi et moi

Mais tu ne m'aimais plus chéri

Et il en va, perdu dans l'histoire

On est fini.
